Potential pharmaceutical products

Many companies first identify a disease and then spend many years and several millions of dollars searching for and experimenting with drug candidates to treat the identified condition. This traditional process can take decades and cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

NUCRYST already has a commercially proven technology and does not have to go through the costly and timely drug discovery process. Instead, NUCRYST focuses on finding indications for its nanocrystalline technology based on patient need and market potential. NUCRYST’s development path should take less time at a fraction of what it costs to develop drugs taking the traditional route.

NUCRYST is developing innovative pharmaceutical products to address medical conditions that are characterized by both infection and inflammation. NUCRYST has developed its nanocrystalline silver in a powder form for use as an active pharmaceutical ingredient, or API, known as NPI 32101.

The company is currently exploring new NPI 32101 product opportunities in dermatology and gastroenterology.
