Westaim Corporation Stock is Added to the TSE 300 and the TSE 200 |

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA - Effective before the open of Thursday, August 14, 1997, the common shares of National Trustco Inc. (NT) will be removed from the TSE 300 Index. It has been announced that over 90 per cent of Narional Trustco Inc.'s common shares have been tendered to the share purchase offer by The Bank of Nova Scotia.
Please note the following changes to the TSE 300 Composite Index before the open on Thursday, August 14, 1997:
Stock to be added:
Westaim Corporation (WED)
Group/Subgroup (6.2 - Fabricating & Engineering)
Stock to be removed:
National Trustco Inc. (NT)
Group/Subgroup (13.1 - Banks and Trusts)
Note: Westaim Corporation (WED) will also be added to and National Trustco Inc. (NT) will be removed from the TSE 200 Index effective before the open on Thursday, August 14, 1997.
