New Oracle Partner enhances e-business management through tight integration with Oracle Express and Oracle iFS software
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A. - SavvionTM, a global provider of innovative automated business process management solutions, today announced new integrations of Savvion BusinessManagerTM with Oracle's Business Intelligence software, Oracle Express, and Oracle's new Internet File System, iFS. As an Oracle partner, Savvion now offers Oracle customers a powerful e-business process management solution that is tightly integrated with Oracle's leading database, business intelligence and file management products.
The Westaim Corporation holds a 22 per cent equity interest in Savvion.
Savvion BusinessManagerTM is an e-business platform that is designed to allow companies to quickly streamline their business operations and transform both human and computer-based business processes into automated web applications. Using BusinessManager, companies can easily move any operation online - from project management to order processing to supply-chain management. The automated web applications speed task execution by allowing employees to complete assignments and managers to then oversee the automated operations in real time from any browser-based device, including personal digital devices, such as PalmTM handheld devices and web-enabled cellular telephones.
The database-independent solution is fully optimized to run with Oracle and also supports high-level integration with Oracle's business intelligence software to allow customers to analyze and monitor their e-business operations. BusinessManager offers companies a highly competitive edge by also letting managers modify these automated processes as business conditions change.
Savvion will demonstrate a sample "e-document management" solution and an integrated business intelligence application at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco, October 1-6, in Booth #2737. By integrating Savvion BusinessManager with Oracle iFS, Oracle's new Java and XML-based file system for Oracle8i, companies gain a powerful combination of content and process management. Oracle iFS lets users easily access documents and media through familiar interfaces such as Windows, the Web (HTTP), e-mail, and FTP. In addition, iFS supports versioning, check-in/check-out, and event notification. Companies can enhance these capabilities by building tightly integrated Savvion BusinessManager applications that add sophisticated business process management.
"We believe that the highly complementary nature of content management offered by Oracle iFS and process management provided by Savvion BusinessManager promises to take document management to a new level," said Dr. Mohammad Ketabchi, Savvion founder and CEO. "We believe Savvion BusinessManager provides a unique online management environment that lets customers monitor, analyze, and control their business operations around the clock. By partnering with Oracle, we can enhance our delivery of e-management solutions through seamless integration with both the Oracle database and Oracle software products."
Savvion's sample e-document management application, built using BusinessManager's Java and XML-based quick application development platform, is designed to let companies:
· speed document workflow by automatically routing tasks to performers or other computer systems based on defined processes, · closely monitor task execution through a browser overview of all automated operations, and · proactively controlling operations as conditions change by revising priorities, performers, due dates, or instructions through dynamic modification of associated business rules.
A BusinessManager application running on top of iFS could let a manager put a product name up for review, consolidate feedback, secure executive approval for a new name, and propagate the name change across all corporate documents. At each step defined in the process, BusinessManager automatically sends the task to the next performer or invokes a related sub-process, such as finding all documents that include the former product name.
Customers can create similar BusinessManager applications to automate any business operation. BusinessManager applications are designed to interoperate with each other as well as with most existing computer systems, letting companies manage operations across an extended enterprise. For example, automated processes can span document management, Web publishing, and online ordering systems.
By joining the Oracle Partner Program, Savvion gains direct access to Oracle's leading-edge technology, education, and technical support. As a result, Savvion can deliver e-business management solutions that are tightly integrated with Oracle software and easily implemented by customers.
"We believe Savvion BusinessManager offers customers immediate operational efficiencies, allowing them to cut costs, improve productivity, and increase revenues," Ketabchi added. "As an Oracle partner, we can increase these efficiencies by guaranteeing that our e-business solutions support the highest levels of integration with Oracle software."
