Savvion selects Active Software’s ActiveWorks Integration System to enable rapid integration of customers’ existing applications into managed eBusiness solutions
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A. - Active Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASWX), a leading provider of eBusiness infrastructure products, and Savvion, a global provider of innovative automated business management solutions, today announced that Savvion will use Active Software’s ActiveWorksTM Integration System to streamline the integration of customers’ disparate enterprise applications into managed eBusiness solutions.
The Westaim Corporation holds a 22 per cent equity interest in Savvion, formerly Technology Deployment International.
Savvion has developed a solution that enables its flagship product Savvion BusinessManagerTM to tightly interoperate with over 60 enterprise applications that Active Software integrates. The combination will support managing end-to-end business processes that involve integration with existing enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, Siebel, and Clarify as well as legacy and mainframe systems. A business process application that allows customers to order replacement parts via the Web might include in the BusinessManager process flow the querying of an inventory database to check parts availability, an accounting application to verify the customer’s credit and a shipping scheduler application to determine the most cost effective and timely method of routing the replacement parts. Access to each of these external systems by BusinessManager would be performed through ActiveWorks. The Savvion/ActiveWorks integration solution will be available later this month.
“Savvion lets companies revolutionize the way they do business by leveraging Internet-based technologies. Using BusinessManager, customers can quickly automate both human and computer-based business processes to operate in an online environment, streamlining interactions with customers, partners, suppliers, and employees around the clock,” said Dr. Ketabchi, Savvion founder and CEO. “Our partnership with Active Software will further speed deployment of Savvion solutions, providing rapid integration of customers’ existing enterprise applications into automated, managed eBusiness solutions.”
“To remain competitive in today’s Internet era, companies need to automate and manage their business processes and in doing so integrate with a wide variety of disparate systems,” said Chet Kapoor, vice president of Business Development at Active Software. “Our ActiveWorks Integration System lets customers quickly integrate Savvion BusinessManager applications with a large number of third-party products through a single connection between Savvion and Active Software.”
Savvion BusinessManager Savvion’s BusinessManager is a pure Java and XML software platform that lets customers quickly model internal and external business processes into managed eBusiness applications. Sophisticated management tools let customers manage business operations proactively, monitoring processes in real time, analyzing operational performance and modifying them on the fly to react to changing business conditions. By supporting the rapid development of managed eBusiness systems, enhanced by its partnership with Active Software, Savvion lets companies reduce operational costs, improve customer satisfaction, and increase revenues.
“Our solution not only transforms business processes across the extended enterprise but equally important, it provides an online management environment where customers are able to monitor, analyze and control their business operations at all times,” Ketabchi added. “Through our partnership with Active Software, Savvion further validates its leading position in delivering managed eBusiness solutions that are quickly and easily integrated with existing systems.”
